Looking after your boiler means that you need to pay attention to it to make sure that you are aware of when something goes wrong with it. As it happens, this should actually be fairly straightforward to do as long as you are paying attention to the boiler and looking out for any signs that it might need fixing or replacing. One common sign that this is the case is when you have water leaking from the boiler – but what does this mean, and what can you do about it?

If water is leaking from your boiler, it could be down to a number of issues. It might be one of these or more than one of these at once. In any case, it’s a serious issue that needs correcting as soon as possible.

Firstly, it could be that the boiler pressure is low and needs increasing. Alternatively, the relief valve could be leaking extra pressure. You might also have a damaged heat exchanger, which is the part where cold water is actually heated up by the gas. Or if the boiler is just getting old, then there could be a few parts in the boiler that are in need of replacement, and which are not working as they should.

In any case, if you have a leaking boiler, make sure that you are looking for help with it. You might need to have someone out to look at your boiler and fix it as soon as possible before it worsens.
